Position Title: Building Inclusion Facilitator (Internal Stipend Position)

Department: Special Education

Reports to: Assistant Director of Special Education, Building Administrators

 

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Assistant Director of Special Education and Administrators, the Inclusion Facilitator  supports the implementation of inclusive practices within PreK, elementary, and middle school classrooms by collaborating with general educators to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities.  He/she/they has knowledge of current Special Education laws, research, trends, and best practices and uses that knowledge to support and train general education staff and special education staff including paraprofessionals.  He/she/they are comfortable providing ongoing instructional support to general education and special education staff. 

 

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education or related field 
  • Understanding and experience with general education and supplemental curriculums, planning, instruction, Special Education laws, and RCS Special Education procedures
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with IEP paperwork/procedural compliance. Review meeting paperwork for building IEPs, monitoring quality and procedural compliance. Ensure that all building/grade level meeting paperwork is submitted in a timely manner.
  • Ensure and document that teachers and staff are understanding and implementing accommodations across school/instructional environments
  • Provide support and assistance with differentiating and/or accommodating instructional materials and assessments in partnership with case managers and general education teachers 
  • Complete fidelity checks for compliance with accommodations and supports in a variety of settings
  • Communicate with building and special education administrators to facilitate monthly department meetings. Act as a liaison between building special education staff and district special education administrators. 
  • Design professional learning and development resources, and host regular training for paraprofessionals and staff as requested by administrators
  • Monitor, support, and  review IEP goal data, and host monthly data review meetings with special educators
  • Review IEP progress reports, monitoring for compliance with district expectations and timelines for completion
  • Meet with Special Education Instructional Coach monthly to analyze building IEP goal data
  • Audit and research Special Education curriculum and tools as requested and in partnership with Special Education Instructional Coach and Assistant Director
  • Train paraprofessionals, monitor data entry, and assist in analyzing data with teams in the use of Behavior Flow or other electronic or paper based data collection tool
  • Assist IEP teams with the planning, preparation, and completion of FBAs, perform fidelity checks for BIPs and accommodations in multiple environments, follow up with staff as appropriate in conjunction with the building administrators
  • Participate in co-planning (when possible)
  • Review team co-planning practices and procedures (when possible)
  • Meet with Special Education Instructional Coach and/or Assistant Director on a regular basis to review progress reports and analyze data
  • Meet with Special Education Instructional Coach and/or Assistant Director on a regular basis to review data collection systems and learn and present the academic side of Behavior Flow to staff 
  • Performs duties as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Indoor classrooms/School, exposure to: student noise, lawn mowing, music, odors of food, mowed grass and
  • possible communicable diseases.
  • Outdoor schoolyard and grounds, field trips ; exposure to; temperatures (hot warm, cool, cold), and exposure to
  • mowed grass.
  • Regular work attendance.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • This is a stipend position paid per the Collective Bargaining Agreement between Rantoul City Schools #137 and Rantoul City Schools Education Association
